Nickel-Free plating. Nickel-Free Plating is a type of hypoallergenic plating. Why is NICKEL FREE important?

When the plating or overlay wears, even microscopically, and allergic reaction to the nickel in the base metal can occur. Nickel is in a majority of metal items we use because it is inexpensive and adds durability as well as luster to other metals.

What kind of jewelry is nickel free?

Make sure your jewelry is made of surgical-grade stainless steel or either 14K, 18K or 24 Karat yellow gold. White gold may contain nickel. Other nickel-free metals include pure sterling silver, copper, platinum and titanium.

Does nickel free tarnish?

Niobium is 99.99% pure. It does not react to skin chemistry, and will never corrode or tarnish. It is the safest metal for allergy sufferers to wear. It does not corrode, does not tarnish, and in its pure state, is totally non-allergenic.

What is Rhodium Plating?

Rhodium is a precious metal, a member of the platinum family. Rhodium electroplating is used, especially on jewelry, to provide a surface that will resist scratches and tarnish, and give a white, reflective appearance. Rhodium Plating is most often found on white gold. The term white gold is something of a misnomer.

This is one of my favourite shops on the Danforth. I'm glad everything is still online because I just bought a purse... from them for the first time this way. From experience, I know I'll be happy when it arrives. I've spent years loving the jewelry I bought from here, it's all so finely made without being gaudy and so so pretty. And the workers there are so sweet and friendly, I think that's actually what I miss most from my experience in walk-in shopping here. The camaraderie with the shop owners, talking to them about our day to day lives. I highly recommend shopping here and when things open up again I know I'll be visiting them first thing on the Danforth!read more

Very disappointed and mislead. Im a long time resident of the area and have shopped here before. I went in one day and... asked where the gemstones were as they appeared online, the owner didn't help much and didn't tell me any answers. As I left the store I noticed Gemstones&Co. is upstairs and carried all the pieces I was asking her about. They had mentioned they used to have their products in shop downstairs however they've since taken them back.
